Where does the money I contribute go?  Many of you may be asking that exact question.  If you visit the 10 & 41 website, http://www.10and41.org and click on the Lion's Club tab, you will see a list of may organizations that the club supports.  In today's reading I will only be highlighting a few of them, but please feel free to check out the others as well.

Back in 2009, the shop opened and has since then been able to financially support many organizations.  Such organizations are the local fire companies, include Parkesburg Fire Company and Cochranville Fire Company.  You can visit their websites at: http://cochranvillefire.com/ and http://www.parkesburgfire.com/.  The Parkesburg Lions Club was also able to support the Chester County Blind Association and LeaderDogs, a company that supplies dogs for the blind.  Thanks to all of those who helped contribute to the Lions Club to support those organizations doing good deeds for the needy.

Leader Dogs for the Blind is an organization that supplies trained do to help guide those who are blind or visually impaired. They are located in Rochester Hills, MI.  The organization came about in 1939 with a vision to supply eyes for those who needed it (no pun intended).  Today they have over 270 clients that participate in the program.  Please visit their website: http://www.leaderdog.org/ to read more about what they do.

I hope now you are able to see where your money goes when you consign with 10 & 41.  Stop by today and help support these wonderful organizations, because everyone matters.

Featured Item of the Week

Folks,
This week 10 & 41 is featuring a "Barb Sale".  Everything that is marked with a barb is 50% off the Barb Color price.  And by everything, we mean everything.  Each color has their own price, so please ask one of our volunteers if your not sure or just look around the store for a sign describing each barb.  If not sure what a barb is, please refer to Figure 1 below.

On another note, 10 & 41 is also very pleased to announce that they have their first featured item of the week.

This weeks item is a Marx Vintage Tin dollhouse from the 1950's.   The style of the house is a suburban or a colonial home.  From my research, these dollhouse can be traced back to as early as the 1800's.  When this dollhouse was issued, a person in the 1950's era could buy this exact dollhouse for $3.79 and it came with all of the furnishings.  Unfortunately, the dollhouse we have isn't fully furnished, but it's still a very unique piece of history.  We have it on display so please stop by to see what we have to offer.

Welcome Message

Hello Readers,

This is my first time ever to blog.  I am not quite sure how often you would like to see a post or how much you would like me to write, so some comments would be very helpful.  Let me begin by telling you a little bit about the shop for those of you who don’t know it.  I will be writing for a local Consignment Shop in the little town of Cochranville, PA.  The shop has been around since 2009, so it’s still fairly new.  The Parkesburg Lions Club runs the shop, and proceeds go to the non-profits the Lions support.  By you shopping there, you are supporting a good cause!  So stop by at 3177 Limestone Road, Cochranville, PA 19330.  Their hours are:

Monday…………….10-6
Tuesday………….…10-4
Wednesday-Friday.....10-6
Saturday….……..……9-6
  Sunday…...……...…12-5

I will be providing information about what’s new, what’s happening, and, what’s on sale at 10 & 41.  We will also have a featured item of the week, where a special item we receive particular attention that week.  “There’s always something new at 10 & 41” M.P.

Thanks for reading!
